This first experience on the waters of the Mozambique Channel has been very rewarding both for the scientific aspects of this mission and for the human aspects. To live 15 days to 15 people on a boat certainly comfortable but remaining a small floating island in a vast ocean was exciting. Rich in lessons through cross-disciplinary discussions between all the people, rich in the diversity of scientific colleagues, each providing knowledge and experiences,
Rich by the example of life offered by Nicolas and his family and rich also by the knowledge of the Malagasy environment that we offered Tombo.
Each in his own way has made his contribution to the success of this mission that I will not forget.
I will not forget these fabulous starry skies, these wild, mysterious Malagasy islands arousing curiosity and interest and finally I will not forget the kindness of the Malagasy people we met. In their destitution, they have always brought us with their kindness a lesson in life.
